Program Review, Coordination, and Assessment.
Graphic Design Program Coordinator, 2022–present.
Five-Year Program Review
My contributions to graphic design program development extend beyond my formal appointment as Graphic Design Program Coordinator in 2022. Throughout my teaching career at Flagler College, I have participated in curriculum planning, course development, program assessment, and initiatives that support the continued evolution of graphic design education. In 2012, I authored the Graphic Design program’s five-year review, evaluating curriculum, student learning outcomes, program strengths, and opportunities for improvement. I also collaborated with fellow graphic design faculty on the development of the Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) in Graphic Design, contributing to curriculum planning and the expansion of advanced design education opportunities.
Contribution + ImpactContributed to the Graphic Design program's long-term growth and academic development through systematic program evaluation and collaborative BFA curriculum development. Helped strengthen curricular pathways, expand opportunities for advanced study, and support students pursuing professional careers in communication design.
Program Coordination
Since becoming Program Coordinator in 2022, my role has expanded to include curriculum planning and revision, program-level assessment, course scheduling, adjunct faculty coordination, student advising, recruitment, portfolio reviews, and industry engagement. My approach to program leadership emphasizes connecting foundational design education with emerging technologies, research-informed practices, and evolving professional expectations. Through curriculum development and collaboration with faculty and industry professionals, I work to prepare students for the changing demands of communication design.
Contribution + ImpactCoordination supports course availability, consistent expectations, informed advising, and continuity across semesters.
Program Assessment and Industry-Informed Planning
In 2025, I conducted an informal review of the Graphic Design program in response to the rapid advancement of artificial intelligence and its growing impact on the design profession. The review examined the existing curriculum, identified opportunities to integrate AI and emerging technologies, and considered how evolving industry practices are reshaping the skills and competencies expected of graduates. Building on my responsibilities as Program Coordinator, this initiative informed ongoing discussions about curriculum development, course offerings, and preparing students to adapt to the changing landscape of communication design.
Contribution + ImpactThe assessment informed ongoing curriculum discussions and identified opportunities to integrate artificial intelligence, emerging technologies, and evolving industry practices, supporting the program’s continued development and preparing students for the changing demands of the design profession.
